The MX switch, also known as the Cherry MX switch, is a type of mechanical switch commonly used in mechanical keyboards. Developed by Cherry GmbH, it is renowned for its reliability and durability. MX switches come in different variations, including tactile switches with a noticeable bump, linear switches with a smooth keystroke, and clicky switches that provide both tactile feedback and an audible click sound. Keycap compatibility depends on the layout of your keyboard. Special attention should be paid to the backspace, tab, capslock, enter, shift, ctrl, win, alt, fn, and menu keys, as they may have non-standard dimensions. Some keyboards have unique key lengths to accommodate smaller size layouts. For complete sets or WASD, arrow and other sets, make sure your layout matches. For individual Craftsman keycaps, it is recommended to use 1u size keycaps on function or navigation rows.
